After The Crowd

What separates those who witness a miracle from those who receive a revelation?

In Matthew 13, we find a striking moment that is easy to overlook. Jesus sends the crowd away, walks into a house, and then the disciples follow him inside. It is in that private space, away from the noise and the spectacle, that Jesus begins explaining the deeper mysteries of the kingdom of God.

The crowd gathered for the signs and the wonders, and there is nothing wrong with that. But the disciples stayed, and staying made all the difference.

This message challenges us to examine where we are positioning ourselves in our own faith walk. Are we part of the crowd that shows up for the experience, or are we the ones who linger, who ask questions, and who press in for something deeper? The spiritual lesson here is both simple and profound: hunger is what separates information from transformation. The disciples were not smarter than the crowd. They were hungrier. And that hunger drove them through the door and into the presence of Jesus, where the real teaching began.
